The Wesley Mission Victoria – Neurological Support Services.
A little background
The Wesley Mission Victoria’s main agenda is to support and maintain the need for a ‘more just society’.
The organisations motto states:
“HOPE is the promise of a better future for ever person in a fairer world, COMPASSION is seeking to understand the experience of others, standing alongside and being moved to respond,
JUSTICE is the right of all people to be treated with respect and fairness in an equitable society.”
The association originally began to resolve and assist with individual’s issues with abuse, addiction, homelessness and those in financial crisis during the economical depression of the 1890s.
Over the years the Wesley Mission has helped to support a wide range of vulnerable people by developing an extensive range of programs and services.
Neurological Support Services
Wesley Mission Victoria consists of accommodation split in to two depending on each individual’s neurological circumstance. Conditions within the split housing range from Huntington’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neuron Disease and other forms of neurological conditions.
Whilst focusing on Huntington’s disease in particular, the Wesley Mission Vic supplies Victoria with its only specialist facility.
The two aforementioned accommodations are situated in Glen Waverley and the Cranbourne area.
The ‘my future, my choice’ program is a state & government funded scheme consisting of two, six bedroom facilities supporting young people with neurodegenerative diseases.
Through ‘The Arthur Preston Residential Service’s residents are supplied with a ‘Home like environment which maintains residents quality of life, dignity and independence’. To gain housing you must be a Victoria resident that requires facility based care and between 16-64 years of age.
Novacorr has a special relationship with the Wesley Mission Victoria, in particular the neurological support services.
As a health care company it is so exciting to come across a separate organisation with the same morals and ideologies as our own.
We support and grow with each other and we look forward to our future together serving those more vulnerable then ourselves.
